Making Sense of the Roanoke Court System
One of the trickier parts of any case here is that the Roanoke Valley isn’t a single court system, it’s several, and where your case lands depends on where things happened. It’s confusing if you’ve never dealt with it before, and that’s completely normal. Sorting it out is our job, not yours.
Roanoke City courts sit downtown and handle matters that arise within the city limits — civil lawsuits, local business disputes, and administrative proceedings.
Roanoke County courts are over in neighboring Salem and cover issues that come up outside the city lines but still within the county.
Whichever system your case belongs in, we know the deadlines, the filing rules, and the local way of doing things, and we handle all of it so nothing slips through the cracks.
Why Choose Us
We know these courtrooms. Bettina is in the Roanoke City and Roanoke County courts regularly. We know the people, the procedures, and the small local details that can make a real difference.
You’re always welcome to come in, talk things through privately, and get the reassurance of working with people you’ve actually met.
We’re your neighbors. We live here. We raise our families here. We support the same community organizations and local causes you do. When you work with us, you’re working with people who genuinely care about this corner of West Central Virginia, because it’s home.
Helping You Gather the Pieces
A strong case is built on solid documentation, and tracking that paperwork down takes time and the right contacts. We do this legwork for you, coordinating with local agencies, hospitals, and offices to put the full picture together.
Records and Official Reports
Building a clear timeline often means pulling reports from the right authorities, including:
- Roanoke Police Department (downtown): handles records for incidents within the city.
- Roanoke County Sheriff’s Office: provides incident records and civil documentation for county matters.
- Virginia State Police, Fourth District: covers incidents on the major highways through the region, including Interstate 81 and Interstate 581.
Local Hospitals and Medical Records
When it comes to documenting your injuries and recovery, we work directly with the area’s major health providers, such as:
- Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital: a regional medical hub where many local records originate.
- LewisGale Medical Center: providing care for families across the valley.
We reach out to these institutions on your behalf to gather the reports, billing records, and medical evaluations your case needs, so you can focus on healing.
Let’s Talk: The First Visit Is Free
You don’t have to figure any of this out on your own. Give us a call, tell us what happened, and we’ll sit down together and go through your situation at no cost. No pressure, no obligation, just a straightforward conversation about where you stand and how we can help.
