The plaintiff, a man aged 40 years, was driving on an Interstate highway in heavy traffic. His vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle driven by the defendant. The plaintiff argued that the defendant failed to maintain a proper distance between cars and to keep an appropriate look at the road and other vehicles.
